With growing numbers of COVID-19, unexpected developments about the AstraZeneca vaccine and disturbing news out of Hawkesbury, it’s been a tough week – and it’s still only Tuesday. While not much can be done about the crushing news cycle, we can all at least take solace in some very much deserved nice weather.
Tuesday is going to be downright gorgeous with bright, sunny skies and a high that should climb all the way to 16 C. The mercury barely moves tonight as the low is expected to be an “open the windows!” kind of night at 11 C.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, normal averages for this time of the year tend toward highs near 7 C and lows of about -3 C.
Wednesday will stay warm with a high of 15 C but expect a decent amount of precipitation. There’s a 40 per cent chance of showers in the morning and periods of rain are forecast in the afternoon.
The low drops down to -6 C and there’s a chance of flurries.
Thursday will be cold. The temperature is expected to top out at a measly 1 C and the low will drop all the way down to -11 C. There’s also a chance of snow all day. (Fair warning: The Weather Network is forecasting that up to 10 cm of snow is possible.)
Things start to turn around again on Friday – the sun makes its return and the temperature rises to a seasonal 6 C. Friday night will be clear with a low of -5 C.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday should provide a decent dose of Vitamin D and highs for all three days are between 10 C-14 C.
The sun was up at 6:46 a.m. and, if all goes well, will set at 7:27 p.m.
