A man in his 70s, who lived in the community, died from complications due to the coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths attributed to the virus locally to 428.
Of the confirmed cases, eight are attributed to community acquired, three are close contacts of someone with a confirmed case and six are under investigation.
The region has 163 active cases currently – 91 active cases infected with variants of concern and 72 non-variant cases. To date, 1,845 preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases have been identified.
In total, there have been 16,625 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Windsor and Essex County, while 16,034 are considered resolved.
There are 18 people with COVID-19 in hospital.
Five workplaces are dealing with outbreaks and there is one community outbreak.
As of Saturday, 258,357 residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine, 39,537 have received both doses.
