Lawyers for three of the third parties appeared by telephone in provincial court on Wednesday.
Walker was not physically present in court; her defence lawyer also appeared by telephone. Her case was adjourned to April 24, when it’s expected that a date to for case management related to the third party records application may be set.
Saskatoon police initially charged Walker last summer with parental abduction in contravention of a custody order and public mischief.
They later added charges of unlawfully procuring identity documents, forging a passport, providing a false statement in relation to a passport, possession of a forged passport, possession of forged documents, identity theft and identity fraud.
Walker has pleaded not guilty.
There are publication bans in effect in this case. A provincial court judge clarified the terms of publication bans on any information that could identify two children related to the charges against Walker. Media can name Walker in their reporting, as well as the fact that one of the children is her child, “providing they are not otherwise publishing any information that could identify the victims.”
Walker was previously released on bail and is subject to electronic monitoring and other conditions. A provincial court judge ordered a publication ban on the evidence presented at Walker’s bail hearing and the judge’s reasoning for the decision.
Walker and a child were the focus of a two-week search last summer that ended Aug. 5 when both were found safe in Oregon City, Ore. The child returned with a legal guardian to Saskatoon on Aug. 7.
She also faces charges in the U.S. of aggravated identity theft, a felony, and identity theft, a misdemeanour. The American proceedings are currently on hold.
