In English, the phrases “Did you know?” and “Do you know?” are two informal but often-used questions. Their informal nature makes them easy to incorporate into everyday conversations, and they can quickly draw another person into the conversation.

The phrase “Did you know?” is used to introduce new information. It is usually followed by a statement of fact or interesting piece of information. For example, one might say “Did you know that the Earth revolves around the sun?”. Here, the person is introducing information that the other person likely does not know. The phrase “Do you know?”, on the other hand, is often used to check for existing knowledge. It is often used when trying to find a solution to a problem. For example, one might say “Do you know how to fix a car?”
