Spiked Online Chief Political Writer Brendan O’Neil says “a lot of regimes around the world”, including Russia and China, are “clocking” that the Biden administration is “weak, cowardly and does abandon its allies when the going gets tough”.
“Regimes like China are now thinking to themselves, ‘Washington is on a weak footing, it has a weak president, and it has very little will to do what it wants to do’,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“’And therefore, we’re going to exploit that to extend our power and our influence over a country like Taiwan’.
